Always My Friend

The poem below was written for me by my friend
Jeri who is a member with me in a online group called
Friend 2 Friend. I haven't known Jeri that long but as you
can tell she is a dear friend and a talented lady. I thank
you very much Jeri for you writing this with me in mind,
especially today as it was the day I got the results from
my scans; the cancer is still there, not bigger, not smaller
and hasn't moved. All which is good. It just means back
to the drawing board for 6 more weeks of Chemotherapy.
But, as all my friends know my favorite saying is;
"What you can't push; you drag"

My sweet friend
Have no fear.
Just close your eyes
And take my hand.
On clouds of silk
Through a starlit sky,
Our journey begins
To a more peaceful land.
On a bed made of feathers
Flowers at your head
Where the heart speaks
When no words are said.
I'll wipe away your tears,
Chase the rain from the sky,
Take away all your pain,
Spread your wings and watch you fly.
I'll take the hurt from inside
Bear your pain as my own
You're my friend forever Smoke,
And in my heart you'll always be home.

Gentle Spirit; Creator, sustainer and
Redeemer of all life;
Be with Kathalise who is living with
Cancer, surround her with love and touch her
Heart with hope. Grant her the strength and
Courage to endure the unique pain and loss that
Cancer has brought into her life. Be with her
Family and her friends as they experience
Their own pain and loss. Journey with all those
Who provide care, touch their minds with
Understanding and their hands with kindness.
We pray that a way to control this Disease
will be found. Grant knowledge, skill, And
perseverance to all those engaged in this Search.
Open our hearts to each other, that we
May find comfort, joy, love and hope in the
Sharing of stories and the presence of others.
Finally, we give thanks for all those
Whose spirits have reached out to touch our own
Spirits, and whose journeys have brought joy
And love into our lives.
In the spirit of Peace, Love and Hope
