My Love of My Life

In February of 1982 my life changed forever. I was working at a
Holiday Inn Restaurant and Bar. My best friend Barbara had been
telling me about these two helicopter pilots who came in seems like
when I was off work.

On the 28th day of Feb. I went in on my night off and was just
hanging around with Barbara and some regular customers when Barbara
screamed across the room "They're here, they're here. She drug me
over to the table and introduced me to Pete Dorpema and Jay Martin
( the infamous helicopter pilots) I immediately was attracted to
Pete as he was tall dark, handsome like my daddy had been. Pete
says to me to wait for him while he goes and gets rid of someone
and he'll be back. I walked around the club talking to customers,
helped Barb behind the bar waiting for Pete to show up. I walked
back over to the table where Jason was and said in a smart attitude
" So did you miss me?" To which he replied " Like a Headache" I
forgot Pete at that instant and by the time he got back Jason and I
were already in love I do believe.

In 1996 Jason was diagnosed with Stage 4 Nasopherngeal cancer.
They told me he had a 5-10 % chance of coming out of it alive. For
9 months we stayed at Brook Army Medical Center while he went
through chemo and radiation. We almost lost him but I can proudly
day that he is 8 years clean and healthy as a horse.

In Sept. of 2002 I was diagnosed with lung caner, Jason has been
the Angel that has guided through all the Chemo Radiation hospitals
and infections. He does all the house work, cooks, grocery shops,
takes care of me and holds down a full time job. In Jan. of 2006
they told me I had also a brain tumor. He never let up, no matter
how badly I behaved from being scared or sick or lonely he was
there. He quit his job and moved me from North Carolina down to
Alabama where one of our sons live with his wife and two children.
He wanted me to be around my family. There has never been a luckier
day than the day I met him, he has raised my two boys and now he's
a grand Grandfather to our 4 grandkids. He is sweet, gentle, kind,
considerate, humble, religious, no drinking, smoking, gambling: he
is my Angel and the love of my life.

This is for you Jason to tell you how much you mean to me
and how I couldn't have come this far with out you. I love You.
