Welcome to Kathalise's Korner! Here you will learn about me, my family and what I like and don't like. I know you can't wait to read all of that. LOL
I am a 51 year old wife, mother and grandmother. I am a natural redhead and have a temper to match (although in my old age it is getting more mellow). I am the youngest of seven children born in the piney woods of Louisiana. We grew up poor or I thought we were, didn't realize we were just financially challenged. I didn't think about the fact that everyone in my class also wore hand me downs and went barefoot in spring. It was just a fact, that's how it was done in the early 60's in Louisiana.
Anyway, I am married to a wonderful man going on 21 years now and he has the soul of a Saint to put up with me for all these years. He has his faults too, but they are so few they aren't worth mentioning. I on the other hand have a truck load of faults and Jason has always looked the other way (or at least covered his eyes).
We have two wonderful sons, Michael the oldest is in the Navy in San Diego and is a single father to Zachary. Zachary is a tough little redhead who plays a lot of sports just like his dad. He's a cutie and a sweetie and I love him dearly. Our other son Paul is a chef and goes to college part time. He is married to Theresa (I ordered her out of a catalog she's perfect). Theresa goes to college also and works full time at a health food store; and they have a five year old dumpling named Kaya. Kaya like Zach goes to private school and since my husband is a teacher now I wouldn't have them in public school. Too much goes on there. Not meaning to sound snobby or rude but school isn't what it used to be folks.
We are currently living in NC, have been for almost 4 years. We hope to be moving back to Louisiana this summer and being around family again. My husband retired with 22 years service in the US Army as a helicopter pilot and now teaches JROTC at a local high school here in NC.
We have a human dog that lives with us, Sgt. Sparky Joe Wolfenburger who we lovingly call "Spark". He is a 6 year old Pekinese, red and has as much brain as most people I've met. He really is a smart dog and when I say "Sparky, go to bed" he jumps on the couch and lays his head down on the pillow. Of course the whole time he's watching me with his little buggy eyes wondering if I mean it or not. He has definitely become a member of the family and we would be lost without him. When we get to the serious stuff on this site I will be telling you about my husband's battle and victory over cancer, my ongoing battle with cancer (UPDATED July 25, 2006), my son's kidnapping and all the other weird things that have happened in my life. So, sit back enjoy the ride.
